- 1 Puppy Kibble....Fromm Gold Puppy (pink bag)
Why I recommend Taste of the Wild : 1. "first four ingredients" - ✅; 2. typically hypoallergenic & nutrient-dense meat sources (minimal chicken-based elements, or none at all)✅; 3. decent, non-irritating grain components on the "grain-inclusive" varieties, and reasonable grass, vegetable or legume elements on the "grain-free" varieties✅; 4. and great "bang for the buck" as to practicality. If choosing a KIBBLE for food, I highly recommend Taste of the Wild for dogs of all ages
- Dehydrated food...Small Batch Dog food human grade ingredients. Honest Kitchen and Sundays is also great. Dehydrated for convenient storage. Much better for intestinal health and long term health than kibble. You do not need to add this food gradually as you do with changing kibble because it is so easily digested.
- Fresh gently cooked food is what I love best. Ask me for more information!
- bone broth...
- Food and Water bowls ... Stainless steel is sanitary and easy to clean
- Collar and leash.....6 - 8" long collar at 8 weeks old (for miniature Schnoodle puppies) Toys need the smallest collar you can find.
- Harness - Buy the XXS size for a 4 -5 lb Schnoodle Buy XS for a 7 - 8 lb Schnoodle
- Dog Tag and Microchip....Registered with Name and Phone number in case of loss.
- Wire Dog crate.....24 X 18 x 19 is a good size for the Miniature dog. Link is below
- Puppy pen .... Midwest wire pen is economical. IRIS plastic dog pen is attractive and affordable. ( I have them both and like them both for different areas of my house
Potty Tray below are 3 types of Litter boxes to use with the Pine Pellets.

Flea & Heartworm prevention ... When we used Frontline Plus Flea Medication our dogs all started to develop bald spots on their fur.
At the recommendation of our veterinary, we use the Soresto Flea and Tick collar which kills fleas and ticks for 8 months. The initial cost is pricey. But when you consider how long this product is effective, it actually is quite reasonable. My dogs do not wear this all the time since I am very concerned about the toxicity of these chemicals. I only put it on them if I suspect a flea or if we are in a bad tick season. We do professionally treat our yard for mosquitos, and as a result have greatly reduced numbers of fleas and ticks.
Talk to your veterinary and decide which flea medication is best for your puppy. And don't forget the Heart worm medication. Some areas of the country do not have heartworms, whereas others are very problematic. I use Hartgard. Keep in mind that all Heartworm medications require a prescription. Please do your research on Heartworm medication and how it works. It kills Heart worms only at a specific stage of development. So it is important to test your dog often.Potty training supplies and TREATSBEEF Liver Treats
I highly recommend that you choose dehydrated single ingredient protein dog treats. They will boost your dogs protein level and not add fillers and junk to their diet. This is infinitely more healthy then most other recipe treats..Travel and ToysIf you teach your puppy to use pet stairs to get on and off the couch, it will be healthier for the puppies legs and joints.Puppy Crates and PensTeaching your puppy to love being in his crate and pen is an essential part of raising your puppy. A puppy that is able to be happily confined according to his schedule is less likely to have potty accidents or learn bad habits. A crate is super helpful to use with an adult dog, when the repair man comes or when you are having a party. I prefer my adult dogs to be confined at night since then they don't tell me what time I should get up. I would not be without this essential tool. See the Potty training Schedule page for more information.
Below are my 2 favorite dog pens, and my favorite wire crate
The Midwest Crate in the small size measures 24" L x 18"W x 19" H. I find this crate is the perfect size for my dogs from puppy to adult. It is also very budget friendly. If you will be using this pen for a longer period of time and while you are at work, you may want to go with the 36 inch tall pen.
Wire Pens:
The Midwest Foldable Metal Pen (also linked below), is easily attached to the Midwest Crate with snap hooks. You can configure the Midwest pen in a variety of shapes to best fit in your room. The Midwest Foldable Pen that is linked below is 24 inch high. That is fine for a tiny puppy and for short term use. But if you are going to be using this pen while you are at work for a long period of time during the day, I do recommend buying the taller 30 inch pen and the Midwest Wire Pen Top. This pen top is invaluable for the puppy who is an escape artist!
If you have a puppy who is an escape artist, and you have to leave him while at work or for long periods, you may want to get a large enclosed crate.
Or if you want a larger pen for your puppy, what I use is a Taller XPen and also the XPen Wire Top. This creates a large space square pen that is completely enclosed. A puppy cannot climb out. Don't get taller than 36" because if he attempts to climb the sides you don't want him to fall and hurt himself.
White Plastic Pen:
You may also have noticed that I use an IRIS White Pet Playpens in my puppy nursery. I also have the Iris Add On Panels to make it larger. I love this pen for the clean white color and the plastic that won't scratch the floors.
NOTE: I do not recommend the soft mesh cover that is sold for this pen. It did not work for me. I have found other solutions to stop a puppy from climbing out. Let me know if you need a solution.
The plastic pen is not as versatile or as large as the Midwest metal pen which can configure to a lot more shapes. But the IRIS pen is so much prettier, but it depends on where you want to use the pen. I use both kinds of pens in my home and love them both.Kongs and ChewsThe classic Kong and SAFE chews. are an important tool to use along with your Crate or Pen for periods of confinement. By stuffing your Kong with wet Kibble (and freeing it) You will give your puppy an activity that he or she will love that will build happy associations with confinement. Long lasting chews are also a great way to build a love for the puppy confinement.
Here is a Video all about the use of a Kong Toy in puppy training. Kong Toy TrainingMy two favorite books to help with a New Puppy...Before and After Getting Your New Puppy is a book that stresses the importance of keeping your puppy in a pen or crate. It also talks about what you should focus on at each stage of development so as not to miss out on important developmental milestones. Socialization is an emphasis in this book.

Basic Grooming Tools for a 8 week Puppy1. Blunt nose scissors
It is important to keep the fur trimmed near our puppies eyes. A blunt nose pair of scissors is very important so that you won't injure your puppies eyes if he turns while you are trimming.
2. Small Slicker brush
I like the small slicker brush for a tiny puppy, since you can brush the beard, under the arms, and small sections of fur at a time. A bigger brush is good for when he gets bigger.
3 Tiny Comb
I use a tiny comb for new puppies. But it will always be helpful to comb beards, eyebrows and under arms.
3. Flexible Slicker Brush
As your puppy gets bigger and his fur gets thicker you will need a larger brush. I find this type is the best for breaking up knots and matts in the coat.
4. Stainless steel comb
After you brush a puppy, you should go over him again with a Stainless steel comb to make sure all the knots or matts near his skin are also taken care of.
5. Nail clippers
If you take your dog to the groomer often, they will cut his nails. But if you want to learn to trim the nails yourself their is a video on the grooming page to show you how to do that.
Many people are afraid to cut nails because they are afraid to cut the quick. If that is the case a Dremel Pet Nail trimmer may be the answer. You have better control over how much of the nail you remove and the nail is left without any sharp edges. This is a very popular tool for dog lovers.
Adult Schnoodle Grooming Supplies If you hate going to the groomer and want to try grooming your Schnoodle yourself, it is certainly quite doable with a little practice. I have groomed by dogs from the very beginning, and learned how to do it from Youtube videos and online diagrams. I had someone hold my puppy and would do very short clipping sessions at a time. Over the years I have appreciated that I can make sure my dogs grooming experience is positive. I can ease the puppy into grooming in a gentle way. Since I groom my dogs, I can groom them the way I like them to look and I have no grooming "surprises". Having multiple dogs over the years, I am so thankful that I decided to learn to groom my dogs myself as it has been well worth the effort.
1. Dog Clipper
I love the Wahl Pet Clipper for its quality and the attachable combs. It is cordless and will keep a 90 minute charge.
The Andis Clipper is another great clipper. It does need to be plugged in during grooming. It is quite and the blades are easily detachable. The blades are not included with the clipper. I do recommend the #10 blade as the most versatile for a close cut.
2. Clipper Comb set
This comb set is a must if you like to leave the coat longer on the legs, or give your doggy an all over puppy cut. Various sizes allow you to adjust the length. I love the Wahl combs since they fit on both clipper tools below and allow you to give your Schnoodle a longer puppy cut. You will need a #30 blade to use with the comb set..
3. Clipper Blades
Clipper blades are sold separately from the Clipper. I prefer Ceramic Edge blades as they don't get as hot as the traditional steel blades.
#10 blade - I use a #10 ceramic edge blade for the shortest summer cut on my Schnauzers. You will need this blade to get under any matts that are close to the skin.
#7FC blade - For the Winter I like to use a 7FC ceramic edge blade on my Schnauzers as it keeps a little length on the dog fro winter. You may not need this blade if you have the comb set.
#30 blade - When I use the Clipper comb set, I put on the #30 Ceramic edge blade. This is the smallest of all the blades and you must have this small blade to fit the combs.
3. Clipper Oil.
The Cool Care Plus listed below is a clipper oil that you spray on your blade. It disenfects, cools and cleans thee blade. You must not use your blades unless you have cleaned them before and after each use. Otherwise they will dull very quickly..
4. Grooming Table.
If you have someone to hold your dog for you while you groom, you may not have to buy a grooming table immediately. But I find they make the job so much easier. The rubber surface prevents the dog from sliding all over the table. The arm is fully adjustable for any height of dog. The table listed below is the one I own. I also purchased it from Amazon many years ago. It arrived very quickly to my door. It is really sturdy and I have been very happy with this model and size.
- When you go out in public, carry your puppy in a Puppy Sling. This is the BEST way to socialize your puppy in public before the puppy has completed the full series of vaccines.
Baxter & Bella Online Puppy Training Program _ - One fee provides lifetime training and consultation - Use Code GROWINGPUPPIES for 25% off. Why I like Baxter and Bella: The Lifetime Consultation is so important. I am happy to advise on young puppies but I do not have experience with problem behaviors of older puppies and dogs. If you are having a training challenge then it helps so much to have a professional to ask for advise.

Adult Schnoodle Grooming Supplies
If you hate going to the groomer and want to try grooming your Schnoodle yourself, it is certainly quite doable with a little practice.
